Women Who Posed Naked On Balcony In Dubai Part Of Stunt For ‘Israeli Porn Channel’

The group of women sparked outrage in the country after they posed nude on the balcony despite strict laws around ‘lewd’ behaviour in the United Arab Emirates.

It’s now emerged that the women may have been taking part in a stunt for a foreign porn site.

Radha Stirling, Director and Founder of Detained in Dubai, told Metro that the organisation had been informed the stunt was for an Israeli porn channel.

If true, this could mean the women could be hit with hefty fines or even time inside.

Speaking to the newspaper, Stirling said: “Initially we were being told that it was the Israeli branch of a US adult website and now we are hearing that it’s an Israeli porn channel.”

Detained in Dubai is a London-based organisation which claims to be considered ‘the international authority on UAE law’.

Its website claims: “Our top priority is helping clients secure the best possible outcome to complex UAE legal issues, regardless of how the odds are stacked against them.”

Dubai Police had earlier released a statement in reference to the incident, citing Article 361 of the UAE’s Federal Penal Code.

This reads: “Whoever publicly appeals, sings, or engages in lewd speech or seduces others publicly into debauchery in any manner whatsoever, shall be punished by detention for at most six months and by a fine not exceeding Dhs5,000 (£980), or by either of these two penalties.”

However, Stirling suspects those responsible could face even longer behind bars, telling Metro: “If it turns out to be an Israeli porn company and the embassy of Israel is involved, then they might do a deal of some sort.

“But if went straight down the line they could face having to pay several hundred thousand dirham in fines and a couple of years in prison.”

Footage of the women was shared on Twitter, showing the group of women stood outside a penthouse apartment on the Dubai Marina.

The women, who are believed to be from numerous countries, have been arrested.

The police statement added: “A criminal case has been registered against the arrested, and they have been referred to Public Prosecution for further legal action.

“Dubai Police warns against such unacceptable behaviours, which do not reflect the values and ethics of Emirati society.”
